    • From there, we will provide you with a Termite Proposal OR with your agreement can start the treatment immediately.
    • Termites if left untreated can cause extensive amounts of damage to your property, which won’t be covered by insurance.
    • Termite treatment methods vary depending on certain species and where they are located.
    • If you’ve discovered what appear to be termites on your property, then we strongly advise that you contact us.
    • Our technician will come to your property to assess and will discuss with you the treatment options.
    • Remember, try not to disturb the Termites.

  • How long does the inspection take?

A Termite Inspection will usually take 1-2 hours on a standard 4-bedroom home. This time will vary depending on your home construction type and location. If your home has a subfloor we will need to inspect under the property and depending on our findings, there may also be further time and additional detection equipment needed to determine the results of your inspection.

For example – if we find high moisture areas within a section of a wall or in the bathroom areas, we will need to investigate these areas further. High moisture is common during inspections. When we find abnormal moisture readings we need to determine if it’s a water leak, or live termites in the home. Termites give off heat and also moisture. This is what our detection tools detect during an inspection. We then use thermal imaging to detect if there is heat from a termite's nest in the wall or moisture from a plumbing leak.

We then finalize the presence of termites by using a motion sensor machine called Termatrac t3i Radar. This machine works on a radar frequency and will detect the motion of termites in the wall. The motion will set off the machine and give our technicians confirmation of live termites in the home.

  • What are the signs of a termite infestation?

Termites can’t survive in the open and it is highly unlikely you will actually see signs of termites until you discover their damage.

    • Mud trails leading up the sides of the buildings.
    • Build up of dried mud in the door joins or window architraves or skirting boards.
    • Blistering on door or window architrave or skirting boards or ceiling cornices.
    • Damp areas or moisture stains on walls
    • Faint tapping or chewing noises behind plaster walls
    • Power failures and build-up of earthy materials around power points
    • Soft floor boards
    • During summer large swarms of “flying black ants” may actually be termite alates being released from the nest. This is strong indication termite colonies are present.

  • How often should I organise a termite inspection?

As per the Australian Standards, it is recommended to organise at least 1 termite inspection a year but depending on the construction type and the age of your home we could recommend 2 termite inspections a year.
